Right at the heart of the Haute-Tarentaise region of the French Alps, the friendly resort of La Rosière (1850 m). The beautiful south facing resort respects traditional mountain architecture and is therefore very popular with people wishing to discover an authentic ski break. Linked with the resort of La Thuile in Italy, La Rosière is also the only Savoyard resort be part of an international ski area, the Espace San Bernardo which has 150 kilometres of ski runs. The resort enjoys high quantities of sun (South facing slopes on the French side) and excellent snow conditions (North facing slopes on the Italian side). The Espace San Bernardo allows all types of snow sports on its slopes. Situated between Mont Blanc and its surrounding valleys, the resort offers something for everyone; easy ski runs to more sporting ones, traditional villages and untouched forests, untracked powder fields and heli-skiing, with all this on offer you can be nothing but seduced by the charms of both French La Rosière and its Italian sister La Thuile. For the new generation of skiers La Rosiere is the resort where it all happens! There is snow kiting, speed riding, a snowpark, a boarder cross course and a snow cross track. There is everything you need to either try out this new type of skiing or to improve your technique. These new specially built areas in La Rosière play host to a range of competitions throughout the season La Rosiere is certified by the French authorities "Famille Plus Montagne" which congratulates the resorts efforts to improve facilities for children and families. La Rosière also has a great range of things to do after skiing and there is evening entertainment to share amongst family and friends: - Nordic walking, snowshoeing and walking trails for lovers of more gentle activities. - Heli-skiing, speed riding, paragliding and snow kiting will keep all thrill seekers occupied. - The spa & beauty centres are more suited for those for whom a vacation is an excuse to unwind and relax. - Finally there is bowling, cinema, bars, pubs and restaurants. Taking care of your children throughout your stay there is the kids' village "The Galopins", which is located in the centre of the resort. The team looks after toddlers (18 months to 3 years old) in the “Baby-Club" and for bigger kids (4 to 12 years) it's the "Club-Loisirs”. All the different clubs offer half day or full day care, with or without meals. All have a great program, stimulating learning and active living within an outdoor environment. There are also ski courses for 3 – 4 year olds held by the ESF (French Ski School).
